Senior Azure Developer

We're looking for a Senior Azure Developer to architect and deliver cloud-native solutions across our distributed team. You'll own full-stack Azure implementations, mentor junior developers, and shape our cloud strategy—all while working async-first from anywhere in the world.

What you'll do

• Design and deploy enterprise-scale Azure infrastructure, leveraging services like App Services, Functions, Cosmos DB, and AKS
• Lead code reviews and technical decisions, setting standards for performance, security, and maintainability across our cloud platform
• Build CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure-as-Code solutions using Azure DevOps and modern deployment patterns
• Collaborate with distributed teams across time zones through clear documentation, async communication, and recorded technical walkthroughs
• Mentor mid-level developers through code pairing sessions and architectural guidance, helping them grow their Azure expertise
• Troubleshoot production issues with pragmatism and ownership, ensuring system reliability and uptime
• Stay current with Azure updates and emerging cloud practices, sharing insights with the team

Must-have

• 5+ years of professional development experience with Microsoft Azure cloud services
• Strong proficiency in C# and .NET (Core or Framework), with proven production experience
• Hands-on experience designing and deploying scalable cloud architectures on Azure
• Solid understanding of Azure services including App Service, Azure SQL, Azure Functions, and Service Bus
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or ARM templates
• Comfortable working asynchronously in distributed teams with self-directed ownership of projects

Nice-to-have

• Microsoft Azure certifications (AZ-204, AZ-305, or equivalent)
• Experience with containerisation using Docker and Kubernetes
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
• Knowledge of event-driven architectures and message-based systems
• Previous B2B contract or freelance development experience
