Senior Python Developer

We are looking for an experienced Senior Python Developer who will be the architect of our backend solutions. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining critical systems that power our organization.

What you will do

• Design and implement scalable Python applications using modern frameworks and best practices
• Conduct code reviews and mentor junior programmers, building a culture of technical excellence
• Optimize system performance and solve complex architectural problems
• Collaborate with product and DevOps teams on integration and deployment
• Write unit and integration tests, ensuring high code quality
• Participate in technical planning and defining development standards
• Face challenges of scaling, security, and reliability

Hybrid work

We combine the flexibility of remote work with the energy of live collaboration. You will work part-time in our Washington D.C. office, part-time from home – ideal for deep coding sessions and creative problem-solving.

Required

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Python Developer with proven track record of production projects
• Fluent knowledge of Python 3.x, FastAPI/Django and modern backend frameworks
• Experience with databases (SQL, PostgreSQL) and caching systems
• Ability to write unit and integration tests, knowledge of CI/CD best practices
• Fluent English in speech and writing at professional level
• Willingness to work in a hybrid environment with a mix of office and remote days

Additional strengths

• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes or cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Azure)
• Knowledge of microservices and Event-Driven Architecture
• AWS Solutions Architect certification or similar qualification
• Experience mentoring junior developers
• Knowledge of GraphQL or REST API best practices
